LiGHT Grant Guidelines

 

LiGHT – Ladies Initiating Giving – An Honored Tradition

LiGHT was officially launched in 2012.  Since that time, members have joined this initiative, collectively raising in excess of $60,480 largely through $25 donations. An endowment of more than $35,000 has been built to provide a permanent source of funding for LiGHT. 

The Foundation’s Board of Directors approved underwriting the administrative expenses of LiGHT through its operational funds – so all contributions to LiGHT are used for the purpose of providing grants to benefit women and children in Wells County.

The 2016 fall business meeting was held on Monday, October 24th. Members heard presentations from nine agencies. Following the presentations, members voted to recommend grant distributions to four organizations.

The Board of Directors approved the recommendation from LiGHT membership to award grants from LiGHT funds for 2016:



 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Community Care of Wells County for benevolence funding for women and children through the Connecting Center

  • Park United Brethren Church for the FOODFIGHT! program which pays off the negative balances of school lunch accounts at all Wells County schools

  • Family Centered Services for the Wells County Mentor Mom Program

  • YWCA of Northeast Indiana for educational programs presented in Wells County schools: Eyes Wide Open, Don't be a Digital Bully, and Digital Boundaries
