LiGHT Grant Guidelines

LiGHT – Ladies Initiating Giving
An Honored Tradition

LiGHT was officially launched in 2012.  Since that time, members have joined this initiative, collectively raising in excess of $95,000 largely through $25 donations. An endowment of more than $66,000 has been built to provide a permanent source of funding for LiGHT.

The Foundation’s Board of Directors approved underwriting the administrative expenses of LiGHT through its operational funds – so all contributions to LiGHT are used for the purpose of providing grants to benefit women and children in Wells County.

The 2020 fall business meeting was held on Monday, October 12th. Members heard presentations from ten agencies. Following the presentations, members voted to recommend grant distributions to five organizations.

In the 9 years since the inception of LiGHT, $62,451 has been awarded in grants to benefit women and children in Wells County.
