2018 Bette A. Erxleben Volunteer of the Year Award

The Wells County Foundation, Inc. recognizes that we are blessed with citizens who help meet community needs through service and volunteerism.  The Foundation Board of Directors will recognize these exemplary citizens through sponsorship of the eighth annual Bette A. Erxleben Volunteer of the Year award.

The Foundation commends and recognizes the achievements, sacrifices, successes and commitments of the many volunteers serving Wells County and through this nomination process will seek out individuals who exemplify the spirit of volunteerism.  The Volunteer of the Year Award will be presented annually to an individual who has made outstanding, sustained and unselfish contributions to community service.

The recipient of the Volunteer of the Year Award will be honored at a luncheon on November 15, 2018 and have the distinct privilege of selecting a qualified nonprofit organization to receive a $1,000 award in his or her name.  The selection of the recipient and the financial award will be determined by a selection committee appointed by the Foundation’s Board of Directors.  The Foundation does not notify nominees of their nomination.  Only the individual selected as “Volunteer of the Year” will be notified.  Individuals who have been nominated for this award in previous years are eligible for re-nomination.

Nominees should represent outstanding achievement in the field of direct community service.  Adult volunteers from Wells County who have made broad-based, significant contributions in such areas of community service as youth, education, human services, community development, health or environment will be considered.
